Wide jawline
The treatment helps to harmonise the contours of the face, improving the proportions of the face and the size of the jawline for a more feminine appearance.
NextWhy does the jaw become wider?
The bulging of the lower face is an anatomical condition, but it can also be caused by frequent tension of the large masseter muscle. It most often occurs in situations of stress, internal tension or mental overload, but it can also be the result of intense exercise such as bodybuilding.
Constant tension in the jaw widens the lower face and gives the face a more masculine appearance, which causes significant aesthetic changes, disrupting facial harmony and the feminine features and contours.
However, not only does it affect our appearance, it is also often linked to nocturnal teeth grinding, which can compromise the health of the jaw joints, teeth, gums and masseter muscles. It can also be a trigger for recurrent neck and headaches and/or migraines.
If the widened jaw is caused by tension in the masseter muscle, the most effective solution is Botox. Botulinum toxin, commonly known as Botox, is a toxin created by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, which is perfectly safe to use. In small amounts, botox can block the transmission of nerve-to-muscle impulses, preventing the targeted muscles from contracting.
Botox injections can relieve ongoing muscle tension and improve quality of life by eliminating disturbing symptoms, regular headaches and neck pain, and protect the health of gums and teeth.
What can we do about a widened jaw?
Facial feminisation (Masseter treatment)
By treating the masseter muscle with Botox, contours of the lower face will be significantly slimmer, more feminine and balanced, while the natural facial expression and chewing ability will remain unaffected. The result of the botox lasts for approximately 3-4 months and the procedure can be repeated several times, as consulted with your treating doctor.
