Hair loss
Hair loss can be the result of a variety of factors, from serious problems to simpler cases, so it is important to make the right diagnosis. There are a number of treatment options for hair loss.
NextWhat causes hair loss?
During the renewal mechanism of our hair we lose about 100-150 strands of hair daily. This is a completely natural process but excessive or sudden loss is the cause for concern and may indicate health issues and deficiencies.
Hair strands usually grow for 3-5 years, then after a few months of stagnation they fall out. If the hair bulbs die, the hair loss becomes permanent.
There are several possible underlying reasons for abnormal hair fall, e.g. hormonal imbalance, vitamin- and mineral deficiency, inflammatory reactions, skin lesions, problems with thyroid gland, liver diseases and hematopoietic system disorders. Some chemicals may cause poisoning and medications have side effects with the same reaction. Stress factors are often and easily ignored but in this case play a significant role by inducing the problem.
The so-called “diffuse thinning” affects the whole scalp, but hair loss can appear on a designated, well-contoured area also. The second type usually occurs in men, especially involving the crown area and the temple. This condition comes naturally with age and in most times hasn’ got a serious underlying issue.
In most cases balding spots lead back to inflammatory reactions and regardless of the amount of hair loss it’s highly suggested to consult with a dermatologist and undergo further examinations and tests.
If the hair fall happens gradually and comes with the thinning of the strands, that usually leads back to malnutrition or a shortcoming of some minerals. Iron-, zinc- and calcium deficiency are considered to be common reasons and along with the level of A, B, C and E-vitamins can be easily checked by blood tests.
If You experience excessive hair loss, it’s important to reach for professional help. Our dermatologists perform hair diagnostic examinations in order to explore and terminate the underlying reasons. One of the most common causes are the hidden inflammatory reactions which induce excessive hair thinning and balding. Treating these conditions can stop and might reverse hair fall.

PRP treatment for hair loss
Another beneficial hair bulb strengthening method is the PRP treatment which makes the hair healthier, thicker, stronger and more radiant while providing greater resilience for the scalp. The PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma which includes cell regenerator and reviver particles. During the therapy, the patient’s own blood is used to restore the hair bulbs. The injections contain a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the reparative functions in dermal tissues. The growth factors pumped into the selected skin parts have a strengthening and thickening effect on the hairs. As a consequence several inactive hair bulbs get revived, the blood flow increases and in this way an adequate amount of nutrients and oxygen is delivered.
