What causes facial volume loss?
Skin aging is a natural and irreversible process. As time passes, the level of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin which are naturally produced by our skin decreases, as a result our skin loses its elasticity and firmness.
The first signs of aging appear on the face. Besides the skin loses its elasticity, with age the facial fatpads also start to decrease causing loss of volume, facial features and contours start to fade and sink. Due to these structural changes starting in our mid 20’s the first small wrinkles and lines may appear even before the age of 30, which can give a tired appearance. With time a more intensive decrease starts in the volume of collagen and fatpads. As the process accelerates deeper lines and wrinkles form as we reach the age of 40-50.
