Cytological examination is one of the most common medical sampling procedures, which is also suitable for detecting tumors, fungal or bacterial infections and other diseases. The test is simple and completely harmless, and does not require any preparation on the part of the patient.

Some type of the HPV (human papilloma virus) virus affects approx. It affects 80% of people in some form during their lifetime. The virus is especially dangerous for women. Therefore, it is extremely important to filter out high-risk types (HPV 16, HPV 18) as soon as possible, because in a significant number of cases it can also be responsible for the subsequent development of cervical cancer.

With the HPV test, the infection can be clearly detected even in the earliest stages. By typing, it can be determined whether the given infection is of low or high risk level.

HVP infection can be successfully cured with targeted treatment and there is a high chance that the development of cervical cancer can also be prevented.

In most cases, HPV infection does not cause symptoms, but risk-increasing factors are smoking, unhealthy diet, a sedentary lifestyle and an active sex life. In order to exclude it and establish an accurate gynecological diagnosis, it is therefore worth having the HPV test performed during the annual gynecological control examination.
