When should you consult a urologist?

Localized complaints in the rectal area
Pain or discomfort in the rectal region
Urinary incontinence (involuntary urine leakage)
Weak urine stream
Burning sensation or pain during urination
Frequent urge to urinate or difficulty urinating
Blood in urine or semen
Recurrent urinary tract infections
Suspected prostate problems

How to Prepare for a Urological Examination

Urological examinations usually require little preparation. However, following a few simple recommendations can help ensure that the examination is smooth and that the doctor can obtain the most accurate results. Before your appointment, please keep the following in mind:

Please arrive with a full bladder, especially if an ultrasound examination is planned.

Bring along any previous medical reports or test results related to your condition.

It may be helpful to note your symptoms in advance, including when they started and how often they occur. Please inform the doctor about any medications you are currently taking.

We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before your appointment to allow time for registration.

Being prepared helps the doctor better understand your symptoms and provide the most appropriate care.

What to expect during a urology examination?

At the beginning of the examination, the doctor will take a detailed medical history, asking about your symptoms and previous health conditions. Next, an ultrasound is used to assess the condition of the kidneys, bladder, and reproductive organs. If needed, additional laboratory tests may also be performed.

For male patients, a prostate examination may be carried out if necessary.
