CO2 laser resurfacing
Smoother skin texture, healthy skin complexion, youthful, firm skin with fractional CO2 laser treatment - a spectacular change without plastic surgery.
Laser resurfacing: guarantees intense skin renewal
Sun exposure, stress and aging cause the skin to lose elasticity over time, wrinkles appear and unwanted blemishes develop, breaking up the uniformity of the skin's appearance. One of the most effective ways to rejuvenate the skin is fractional CO2 laser, which provides extensive and dramatic skin rejuvenation without plastic surgery.
Thanks to laser peels, the skin becomes healthy and youthful again.
- The skin's structure already starts to regenerate within 1 week.
- Deep wrinkles and fine lines disappear.
- The surface of the skin is softened: a smoother, firmer and more velvety texture is achieved.
- Acne, scars, hyperpigmentation and enlarged pores are reduced.
- Tired-looking, photo-damaged skin is completely renewed.
Long-lasting rejuvenation with CO2
With a fractional carbon dioxide laser the laser light does not penetrate the entire surface, but only in small points, micro-pixel by micro-pixel over the treated area, that is why it is called fractional. The laser is used to make tiny incisions in the deeper layers of the skin, triggering the renewal process.
The laser creates microscopic columns in the skin, leaving the tissue between them completely undamaged, which results in a faster wound healing process compared to other laser treatments.
Complete renewal
The fractional CO2 laser activates tissue regeneration and tissue tightening:
- the thermal effect of the laser stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin,
- the problematic damaged cells are vaporized,
- the overall tissue regeneration of the skin reduces scarring and unevenness, improves the appearance of the skin, and results in a firmer, more uniform complexion.
Procedure
For CO2 laser treatment, a consultation will be provided to create a personalized treatment plan to customize the treatment or series of treatments according to your individual concerns and needs.
Immediately before the procedure, the area is prepped: the skin is thoroughly cleaned of any impurities, disinfected and numbed. Based on the individual treatment plan, we set the parameters of the laser device: depending on the severity of the skin problem we select the required energy, pixel width, pixel shape and pixel density. We scan the treated area with the laser light: as the laser does not cover the entire surface, only working in specific points, the tissues are not overheated and the treatment is much less painful. The procedure stimulates regeneration in the deeper layers of the skin and exfoliates the top layer of skin, resulting in firmer, more youthful and resilient skin.
The treatment is completed by applying a special soothing cream to the skin. Further instructions on what to do after the treatment will be given at the end of the procedure.

The treatment can be a solution for many skin concerns. CO2 laser resurfacing is recommended in the following cases:
- hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage
- scars due to acne
- pigmented blemishes due to inflammation or acne
- hyperpigmentation of hormonal nature
- sagging, flaccid, dull skin
- wrinkles, superficial creases, crow's feet
- enlarged pores
- uneven skin tone.
For the fractional laser, we will create a personalized treatment plan according to your specific needs and the severity of your skin concern. For this reason, the recovery time after treatment and the final results may differ. In general, the effects of the procedure are visible after 2 weeks following the treatment, but it takes up to 3 months to see the final result. The end result is even and problem-free skin for up to 1.5-2 years.
The number of sessions required for CO2 laser treatment varies from person to person, but should be at least 6-8 weeks between treatments. However, if you are facing more serious skin problems (e.g. deep and extensive scarring after severe acne), you should wait for the first treatment to fully regenerate and then wait 3-6 months before having another session to achieve the best long term results.
The post-treatment recovery period is between 3 and 4 weeks, depending on the size of the treated area. Redness and swelling can occur for 3-4 days after the laser peel, along with a burning, itching sensation. A special soothing and regenerating product is recommended to reduce discomfort. The skin will start to peel gradually. In the following weeks after the treatment, the renewed skin will initially have a pink color (new skin), which will slowly return to its original color.
Avoid sunbathing and solarium use for 2 months prior to the procedure as they may cause pigmentation problems during the treatment. Also, avoid any products that exfoliate the skin before the treatment and avoid any other procedures that may damage the skin's surface (e.g. chemical peels or microneedle therapies).
After the treatment, the skin is more sensitive and vulnerable during the regeneration period, therefore it is important to protect and support the regeneration process. After the treatment, avoid intense heat (e.g. hot baths) and sweating ( intense physical activity) as these can increase the inflammatory response of the skin. Furthermore, it is important to ensure good hygiene of the treated area. This involves following the recommended skin cleansing and skin care instructions for the post-treatment recovery period and temporarily avoiding the use of cosmetic products and make-up.
The treated area is extremely sensitive to sunlight, so solarium use and sunbathing are not allowed during the post-treatment period. Regardless of the season, special attention is needed to protect the skin surface from sun exposure.
Fractional laser treatment should not be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding, active skin infection or febrile illness. In addition, cheloid predisposition, diabetes, epilepsy, autoimmune disease, cancer, immunosuppressive treatment are also considered as reasons for exclusion. The procedure should not be performed while taking photosensitising drugs, isotretinoin drugs, or if pigmentation problems have occurred during previous laser treatment.
Other risks and issues that may arise will be discussed in detail at the pre-treatment consultation.
