Any abnormal skin lesions found during a mole screening should be removed for medical reasons. With regular screenings, these can be detected at the earliest stage of melanoma development and, with mole removal, there is a high chance of curing or even preventing the disease in 90% of cases.
Mole removal is also a quick and safe solution for aesthetically unpleasant skin lesions that are exposed to constant irritation, hairiness or even irregular edges.
The appearance is immediately more balanced and the chances of a mole becoming atypical are minimized. All removed moles are sent for histology to detect malignant lesions.
Personalized removal methodology
Mole removal is performed according to an individual treatment plan, based on the location and size of the skin lesion. Personal preferences are also taken into account when choosing the removal method. This may include freezing, electrocautery, CO2 laser or excision by a plastic surgeon.
Mole removal is performed under local anesthesia, making the procedure completely pain-free.
Procedure
To remove the mole, the area is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, followed by local anesthesia. After numbing, our specialist will remove the mole according to the treatment plan. Finally, the doctor will close the wound with a few stitches. The procedure takes about 1 hour. The excised mole is sent for biopsy to rule out any abnormality.

A mole removal is a quick procedure performed on an ambulatory care and takes about 1 hour, depending on the number, size and location of the moles you want to remove.
Regular medication can be taken before the procedure, but it is advisable to consult your dermatologist in advance if you are taking anticoagulant medication (e.g. aspirin).
Avoid sun exposure and solarium for at least 6 weeks after the procedure. Our doctor will recommend a special ointment to help the skin heal more quickly, other cosmetics are not allowed to use on the wound. During this time, avoid any activity that could cause stretching of the affected area and any activity that involves sweating.
Everyone is recommended to have a screening at least once a year. If the mole removal was for medical reasons, it is recommended to repeat the screening every 3 months initially and then every 6 months according to the treatment plan.
