Labiaplasty
The size and shape of the labia can be corrected through plastic surgery - labiaplasty not only provides aesthetic improvements, but also a change in the quality of life!
NextLabiaplasty for healthy and aesthetical intimate areas
Over the years, due to pregnancy, childbirth, genetic factors, congenital abnormalities, hormonal changes or weight changes the external female genitalia can experience major transformations.
Changes in the size and shape of the labia can cause a number of health and lifestyle issues in women's lives. For example, enlarged labia minora can make it difficult to do certain things such as wearing underwear or swimwear, walking, running, cycling or even sitting can cause pain, irritation or even chafing the vulvar skin, as well as having a negative impact on sex life.
Labiaplasty, on the other hand, can help correct these problems in the intimate areas, making a real difference to everyday activities and sex life.
- Labiaplasty can be used to correct the size and any deformities of the labia minora.
- During the surgery, the labia majora can be reduced or enlarged in size or tightened.
Even daily life can be difficult
A labiaplasty for labia minora corrects the unilateral or bilateral enlargement of the labia minora: excess tissue on the labia minora is removed so that the labia minora do not overhang the labia majora after the surgery.
Enlarged, deformed labia minora not only cause aesthetic problems, but can also make medical problems and that has a huge impact on everyday life.
- Tight, fitted trousers or clothes can rub the intimate areas.
- Overlapping labia can easily get caught in underwear.
- Overly large labia minora can make sexual intercourse painful.
- Enlarged labias can cause discomfort during sports (e.g. horse riding, cycling, running).
- Deformity of the labia minora can also be responsible for certain vaginal infections.
Labiaplasty can eliminate these problems: constant rubbing and tearing, and also the pain coming from these issues. The surgery will have a great impact on the sexual intercourses too.
Labiaplasty on labia minora
The goal of labiaplasty is always the same: to reduce the size of the enlarged labia minora so that they are anatomically correct. The procedure can be performed using two different techniques. In both cases, the scars are located between the folds of the pubic tissue and therefore remain completely hidden during the healing period.
Methods for labiaplasty on labia minora
- In the trim method, a long, curved incision is made to remove excess tissue from the protruding labia minora.
- In the wedge technique, shorter incisions are made in a V-shape to remove the excess tissue.
Labiaplasty on labia majora
On the external labia - the area surrounding the labia minora - excess fat can appear as a result of weight gain, and excess skin and sagging can occur with weight loss. A labiaplasty can be used to visibly and permanently change the size of the labia majora.
Labiaplasty for labia minora and labia majora can be combined, so you can have both procedures in one single surgery.
Methods for labiaplasty on labia majora
- We can increase the volume of the labia majora by using fillers that have our own fat cells. The procedure involves liposuction from different areas of the body, such as the thighs, abdomen, waist, and then injecting the fat into the labia majora.
- The labia majora can be reduced and tightened by light liposuction and by removing the excess skin. Small incisions are made, the unwanted fat is removed and excess skin is excised.
Procedure
The process of labiaplasty for the labia minora and for the labia majora is very similar, only the surgical techniques differ. For both operations, the first step is to have a personal consultation and a gynecological examination. Once we've assessed the extent of the problem, we'll create your individual treatment plan, going over the exact procedure, risks and aftercare. We'll also do a full check-up (e.g. lab tests, ECG) before your plastic surgery to make sure you're ready for the procedure.
At the beginning of the procedure, the specialist will mark the area to be worked on and then use local anesthesia. Afterwards, the surgeon will make the agreed changes to the labia minora and/or labia majora according to the specific surgical plan and create the desired shape and changes. As these are very delicate parts of the body, we work with great care and attention to the integrity of the intimate areas.
You will need to stay at the clinic for a few hours after the operation for observation, but you will be discharged home the same day.

A labiaplasty for the labia minora is recommended if:
- you are not satisfied with the shape,
- you want to change the size,
- the labia minora extend beyond the labia majora - almost like a protrusion - causing functional problems,
- you have underdeveloped labia majora,
- you have asymmetrical labia minora.
A labiaplasty for labia majora is recommended if:
- you want to reduce or increase the size,
- you want firmer genital parts
- you want an intimate rejuvenation.
The effects of the plastic surgery are almost immediately noticeable in the treated area, but only at the end of the healing process (after about 3-4 months) the final results are visible.
In case of labiaplasty and also any other procedure where the intimate parts are involved, it is recommended to schedule the surgery 3-4 days after your period ends to allow enough time for the wound to heal before your next cycle.
The consumption of vitamin C, selenium, zinc, ginkgo biloba, anticoagulant medications and certain herbal supplements should be suspended for a few days before the operation. Alcohol should also be avoided. However, it is important to drink plenty of water to ensure that the body is properly prepared and hydrated for the operation.
You should stop smoking and taking nicotine-containing products a few weeks before the operation, as nicotine has a negative effect on the healing process.
The recovery period after surgery is 1-2 weeks, but you can return to work within a few days. Full recovery takes about 2-4 months.
After labiaplasty, you may experience swelling, bruising, mild pain, tightness, itching, spotting, bleeding and discharge in and around the treated area. In addition, you may also feel discomfort when peeing and sitting for a few days. Symptoms can be relieved by cooling/icing the area, taking painkillers and it is recommended to use sanitary pads as well.
- After the procedure, intimate areas should be spared and extreme care should be taken to ensure proper hygiene.
- In the days after the operation, the treated area should be iced or cooled 3-5 times a day.
- During the recovery period, avoid wearing tight, very fitted clothes and take care not to put too much pressure on the intimate areas.
- Wear breathable, 100% cotton underwear.
- Avoid sitting in a bath or swimming pool for 1 month after surgery, as the wound should not be exposed to water for more than a few minutes.
- For at least 1 month, sports, demanding physical work and activities involving sweating (e.g. sauna) are not recommended.
- Do not use tampons, menstrual cups or sponges for 4-6 weeks.
- Avoid sexual intercourse for 6-8 weeks.
- Avoid smoking, using nicotine-containing products and drinking alcohol in the weeks after surgery.
- Solarium and sunbathing are not recommended for 2 months after the operation.
The procedure is not recommended during pregnancy, breast-feeding, menstruation, febrile illness, autoimmune disease, coagulation problems and heart or lung disease. In addition, in case of diabetes, high blood pressure or organ abnormalities, a separate consultation with a specialist is required.
