Incontinence Laser Treatment
Treating incontinence can prevent additional problems
Incontinence is a very common symptom among women, usually with age, but it can also be triggered by pregnancy or menopause. Urinary incontinence is basically caused by the loss of bladder control: the sphincter muscle is unable to prevent urine from leaking spontaneously.
We distinguish between 3 types of incontinence dysfunction according to their severity: Mild, moderate and severe urinary problems.
mild: involuntary leakage of less than 5 ml
moderate: involuntary leakage between 5 and 20 ml
severe: involuntary leakage of more than 20 ml
Treating incontinence is very important, as it not only affects quality of life but can also lead to various health problems. Some qualified laser treatments can safely and effectively eliminate this problem.
Candela CO2RE Intima
Vaginal laser treatment helps to resolve urinary problems without surgery. The treatment is carried out using the Candela CO2RE Intima laser device, which uses fractionated CO2 laser technology specially developed for intimate areas.
The laser offers efficient and effective treatment for intimate problems. The micro-injuries caused by the laser light stimulate natural regeneration in the body.
Painless and safe laser treatment
Laser incontinence treatment:
- stimulates collagen fibers, rebuilding the collagen tissue,
- and strengthens the connective tissue of the urethra and bladder.
The laser procedure is painless, extremely safe, hormone-free and requires no incision or general anesthesia.
Procedure
Before the treatment, you will need to attend a specialist examination and consultation, during which we will determine the type and extent of your incontinence and develop a specific treatment plan.
At the beginning of the treatment, the intimate areas are thoroughly prepared, disinfected and numbed. Depending on the type of incontinence, we work in the vagina (stress incontinence) or the urethra (urge incontinence). The procedure is based on the same principle in both cases: a micron-diameter laser beam scans the wall of the treated area from the inside out, making microscopic incisions. This triggers the body's natural ability to regenerate and produce collagen fibers, the lack of which causes sphincter attenuation and urinary leakage itself.
There is minimal discomfort during the treatment, due to the energy of the laser, which gives a sensation of warmth but no pain. At the end of the treatment, you will be given detailed instructions on the aftercare protocol.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have more questions?
Vaginal laser treatment for incontinence issues can be recommended if:
- you have sudden urinary problems when coughing, sneezing, laughing, lifting, exercising or climbing stairs (stress incontinence),
- a frequent urge to urinate which is extremely difficult - and often impossible - to hold back (urge incontinence).
Laser treatment for incontinence usually takes 2-3 sessions, but this depends on the extent of the problem and age. If the urinary problem is very severe, up to 4+ treatments may be necessary.
At least 4 to 5 weeks should pass between each treatment, and after the third treatment there should be a break of at least six months to allow the tissues enough time to regenerate. Maintenance treatment is recommended every 1-2 years.
After the first session, the effect of the treatment is already noticeable, but you can expect a more gradual improvement in your incontinence problems. After the laser treatment, people with mild to moderate incontinence usually experience a full recovery. Those with more severe urinary problems can also expect a significant improvement in their quality of life.
Swelling and burning sensation may occur in the treated area after the procedure, which will disappear within a short time. For 1 week after the laser treatment, avoid solarium, bathing in sitting position, sun exposure, swimming pools and sexual activity.
It is advisable to combine the treatment with the Kegel exercise programme to further improve muscle tone within genitial areas.
Treatment is not recommended in case of pregnancy, breast-feeding, menstruation, active infection, febrile illness or cancer, or when taking photosensitising medication.
