Breast augmentation with fat graft: a realistic look, bigger breasts and liposuction in one
Beautiful, firm breasts give you confidence, self-assurance and a captivating appeal. Breasts are a symbol of femininity, so it's no wonder that the size and shape of their breasts are particularly important to women. Although some women are unhappy with their breast size, they do not consider plastic surgery because they are intimidated by breast implants and would prefer more natural methods. However, there is a solution for them as well!
Breast augmentation with your own body fat is a safe procedure that can increase the size of your breasts by up to a full cup size. It's perfect for those who are happy with the shape of their breasts but want a fuller, firmer, but less revealing shape.
In addition, fat transfer breast augmentation is also ideal for those whose breasts have lost volume with age or require deformity correction due to biopsy or tumor removal.
Fatty tissue has long been used as a filler in various plastic surgery procedures. The procedure involves the removal of excess fat cells from one or more areas of the body, which are then injected into the breasts as pure adipose tissue containing regenerative cells after a special treatment and purification.
Thanks to the new technology, fat grafting now provides much more permanent results than before. Approximately 100-200 ml can be injected at once during the operation, but the procedure can be repeated several times for more dramatic results.
With fat transfer breast augmentation, potential complications related to breast implants (e.g. implant rupture, abnormal cup formation) can be excluded and recovery time is short. In addition, there is no need to perform a breast implant replacement in the future.

Instant results
Breast augmentation is carefully planned to ensure the best and most natural outcome for you.
The results of breast augmentation are immediately visible. Although the breasts may still be swollen and appear larger during the recovery period, they will reach their final size approximately 6 months after surgery.
Natural, long-lasting and body-identical material
During surgery, body fat from the hips, thighs, buttocks and abdomen is used as a filler to increase the size and firmness of the breasts. When injected with the correct technique, the fat tissue is very firmly embedded at the site of augmentation and only a certain amount is absorbed during the first phase, ensuring a lasting result.

Short recovery time, almost undetectable scars
The recovery time for a fat transfer breast augmentation is minimal, roughly 4-6 weeks, but you can return to your daily activities as soon as one week after the procedure. During the surgery, our plastic surgeon makes incisions of just a few millimeters, which are virtually undetectable a few months later.
Procedure
During the first consultation, our plastic surgeon will examine the patient's breast condition and preferences, and if the doctor considers the patient suitable for a fat transfer augmentation, he will give detailed information about the procedure and the possible results. A surgical plan is then prepared.
Before the procedure, some mandatory tests are required: laboratory tests, ECG, chest X-ray and breast ultrasound or mammography are always essential. Some diseases, medication and previous plastic surgery may indicate the need for additional tests.
Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia by our plastic surgeon and requires a one-day stay in our clinic. In most cases, the operation takes approximately 2-3 hours.
As a first step, our specialist will perform liposuction on an area of the body with excess fat, such as the abdomen, thighs, buttocks or hips. The incisions are approximately 4-5 mm and the liposuction is performed with a special soft-tissue cannula and tissue-preserving technique, ensuring maximum protection of the fat tissue.
After specific processing and purification, these pure fat tissues - containing regenerative cells - are injected into the breasts. Multiple injections are used to create a symmetrical, natural shape.
It is important that the injected fat cells are surrounded by living cells, because they can be reintegrated into the body's system. The more surrounding living tissue, the more successful the result will be.

Fat transfer breast augmentation is recommended for those who:
- have well-shaped, but small breasts and want a maximum of one cup size larger breasts
- want larger breasts but are afraid of breast implants or the possible risks
- need corrective surgery after a biopsy or mastectomy
- want to get rid of excess fat on a certain part of their body in addition to fuller breasts
- want permanent results
Excess fat is a requirement for the procedure. Therefore, for those who do not have excess fat, who are thin and exercise a lot, a different type of breast augmentation procedure is recommended.
Regular medication can be taken before the procedure, but it is essential to consult your plastic surgeon if you are taking anticoagulant medication (e.g. aspirin). Alcohol and smoking should be avoided before and after surgery as they can interfere with the body's ability to heal properly.
As the procedure is performed under general anesthesia, there is no pain during the surgery. You may feel a tight, tingling sensation after the operation. There may be some minor pain in the breasts and the areas where the liposuction was performed for the first few days, but this can be easily relieved with non-prescription painkillers.
In the days following the operation, the surgical site may be swollen and oedematous, but this will decrease gradually with recovery and should disappear completely in about 10 days. The adhesive covering on the cannula site can be removed after a few days. The plastic surgeon will check that everything is alright after 3-4 days and at the 6-week follow-up. No pressure on the breasts for 10 days.
When sleeping, make sure not to lie on the breasts and avoid any physical activity involving the chest muscles during this period. For 3 weeks after the operation, it is not recommended to put any pressure on the arms, shoulders or pectoral muscles.
It is also important to avoid direct UV exposure to the incisions for 6 weeks until the suctioned areas have fully healed, and to avoid sunbathing and tanning as this can have a negative effect on scarring. Sauna is also not recommended. Compression bras are advisable for the first few days, followed by sports bras.
Breast augmentation with own fat is a safe operation with minimal risks, but as with all operations, complications can occur.
These include:
- postoperative bleeding, inflammation, infection
- lumps, cysts in the breast
- indentations and irregularities at the liposuction site
- keloid, hypertrophic or atrophic scarring
- inflammation of a surgical scar
- difficulty in breastfeeding
One of the potential risks of using fat transfer for breast augmentation is that the punctures made in the breast tissue during fat grafting may damage the glands and ducts, thereby interfering with breastfeeding.
