Facial fat transfer
A natural and long-lasting solution to tighten and volumize the sagging skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
NextPlumping the face with your own fat for an elastic, revitalized appearance
The first signs of aging appear most commonly on the face. As we age, the skin becomes dull, saggy, and less elastic. At the same time the volume of the cheeks decreases as fat and connective tissue atrophy starts with the aging process. Even before the age of 30, the first fine lines and wrinkles can appear, which can make the face look tired, stressed and not the same as it was before.
Genetic factors play a major role in the process, but stress, poor lifestyle, weight loss and environmental factors such as air pollution and UV exposure can also leave their marks on the face.
Facial fat grafting restores the firmness and elasticity of the face and it is also an effective way to reduce wrinkles and bring back the youthful facial contour and volume without changing the character of the face. In addition, it will not only restore volume, but also trigger a regeneration and bio-stimulation process of the fat cells.
The fatty tissues used in the procedure, which are extracted from the patient's own body, are completely bio-identical, so there is no risk of allergic reactions, as well as being 100% natural.
Personalized, instant results
The results of facial fat grafting can be seen immediately after the procedure. In the following weeks after the procedure, the volume of the fat content decreases by 20-40%, so after the initial fullness, the volume of the filled area reaches the ideal size after 3-4 months. The ultimate result is achieved after about 9 months.
Facial fat grafting is carefully pre-planned to ensure the most natural and suitable result for your needs.
Long-lasting, natural, body-identical filler
During the treatment, body fat from the hips, thighs, buttocks and abdomen is used as a filler to tighten or plump the face. As it is body-identical fat tissue, it is the most natural way to replace volume lost over the years.
With the right technique, the fatty tissues are very firmly integrated into the injection site and only a certain amount of fat is absorbed during the initial period, ensuring a long-lasting result. They also trigger regenerative and rejuvenating processes in the skin.
Procedure
During the initial consultation, our plastic surgeon will evaluate your facial characteristics and your personal goals, and will provide a detailed description of the treatment options available and the results you can expect from the procedure.
A detailed treatment plan will be created, followed by some necessary tests. A laboratory test is a must in all cases, but certain illnesses and particular medications or previous plastic surgery may require additional tests.
The facial fat grafting can be performed under local/topical anesthesia or under general anesthesia as personal preference.
As a first step, our plastic surgeon will perform liposuction on the areas of the body that have excess fat, such as the abdomen, thighs, buttocks or hips, to ensure maximum preservation of the fat tissue. After special preparation and purification, these clean adipose tissues - containing regenerative cells - are injected into the areas of the face that need correction, such as the mid-face, the lips and the area around the eyes.
In the following weeks after the procedure, approximately 20-40% of the injected fat is absorbed, therefore a correspondingly larger amount is injected during the treatment.
Finally, our plastic surgeon will evenly distribute the injected material.

The treatment is recommended for those who:
- has laugh lines around the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds)
- experience sagging and thinning of facial skin
- experience volume loss in the midface
- youthful contours are blurred and not so defined anymore
- has wrinkles
Regular medication can be taken prior to the procedure, but it is essential to consult your plastic surgeon if you are taking anticoagulant medication (e.g. aspirin). Recovery after the procedure can be improved by drinking plenty of water, resting and taking skin-regenerating products recommended by the surgeon.
The treatment is performed under local anesthesia, so there is no pain during the procedure, although there may be a stinging sensation.
The recovery after the treatment is quite fast. There may be some dull pain, stinging and tightness at the site of fat grafting, but these are usually easily relieved with over-the-counter painkillers.
In the following days after the treatment, it is advisable to avoid any major physical activity to minimize the risk of bruising. For a few days, you may experience mild pain in the areas that have been suctioned, as well as redness and tenderness at the injection site. Swelling can be avoided by sleeping in a semi-sitting position. The treated area should initially be protected from rubbing and massaging. It is also important to avoid direct exposure to UV light for 1 month, so avoid sunbathing and solarium. Furthermore, cosmetic treatments should be avoided during this period.
Complications with this procedure are very rare. This is because the body's own fat cells are injected. However, people who are more prone to it may experience minor bruising or swelling in the treated areas. These can be treated well with cold packs and should disappear in a few days.
The procedure can be repeated after 6 months if necessary. However, the fat that is injected is absorbed gradually over a period of 2-4 years, so in most cases it is only after this period that a second treatment is justified.
