When prominent chewing muscles contribute to a wider lower face, masseter Botox may soften its contour. The aim is a change that suits the individual anatomy. Treatment reduces muscle activity; it does not reshape the jawbone.
At Zenon Clinic, the brief pre-treatment consultation includes assessment of the face and masseter muscles and discussion of the goal. Masseter treatment has a separate price-list entry from forehead and eye-area wrinkle treatment. An aesthetic consultation or a Botox appointment is available.
Facial slimming and jaw tension are different concerns
Facial shape reflects bone structure, fat, skin and muscle. A wider lower face does not by itself establish an overactive masseter, and Botox will not suit every cause.
Teeth grinding, clenching or jaw pain may require a separate assessment. Masseter injections do not replace dental or jaw-joint examination and are not a general treatment for migraine.
The procedure and its limitations
The individual plan specifies the sides and sites to treat and the amount to use. After cleansing and disinfecting the skin, the doctor gives the injections with a fine needle. Muscle activity and facial contour may change at different rates; the outcome is gradual and individual.
Temporary tenderness, bruising, chewing weakness or smile asymmetry may occur. The effect is not permanent. Repeat treatment is considered after reassessment, rather than booked automatically on a fixed schedule.
