Botox treatment around the mouth
Wrinkles and aesthetic problems around the mouth can be treated without difficulty with botox. Here are some of the corrections we can help you with.
- Gummy smile treatment
The so-called gummy smile is a condition where the muscles responsible for smiling are overactive. This is when you smile and laugh and not only the upper teeth but also the gums above them become visible. With the right muscle relaxation, this frustrating aesthetic problem can be easily treated. - Lip flip
Thinner upper lips can also be corrected with botox. The injected botox relaxes the muscles responsible for the inward curve of the upper lip, making the lip appear optically thicker - without injecting any other filler to achieve fuller looking lips. - Marionette wrinkle treatment, corner lift (DAO treatment)
A drooping lip corner can give you a sad and harsh expression. This can be easily treated with Botox by relaxing the muscle that causes the corners of the mouth to curve downwards (DAO muscles) and this way reducing the downward pulling force. This will lift the corners and make the sad expression disappear. For deeper marionette wrinkles, Botox treatment can also be combined with hyaluronic acid fillers. - Lipstick/Smokers' lines
Tiny vertical wrinkles mostly above the mouth, caused by frequent smoking and also aging, can be treated with botox by gently relaxing the muscles that have become stronger and overactive throughout the years.
Chin and neck rejuvenation
As we age, visible folds and strips can appear on the neck, as a result of the overactive neck muscles (platysma muscles). The "Nefertiti lift" treatment can be used to act on these muscles: by relaxing the tight muscles that pull the neck downwards, the appearance of the neck can be improved. Increased mimic movement may also result in the formation of minor or even major dimples and ridges in the chin area, which can also be eliminated with botox.
Procedure
Botox treatment is basically a quick and safe procedure with minimal discomfort. The first step is to prepare the skin: we cleanse the skin of any make-up or debris and disinfect the treated area. The procedure involves using a thin needle to inject the substance into the targeted muscles to relax. Finally, a special calming cream with SPF is applied to the treated area.
The change will be visible after 3-5 days, but you should wait 2 weeks for the final result.

Botox is recommended for anyone between the ages of 18 and 65, regardless of gender, who are looking to treat dynamic wrinkles caused by facial expression.
We specifically recommend it to:
- anyone who wants a more arched brow,
- for drooping mouth corners, smokers'/lipstick lines,
- chin and neck wrinkles, for tight, tense neck muscles,
- gummy smile and thin upper lips,
- for slimming a wider, more square shaped lower face and for teeth grinding during the night as well.
The substance used in the procedure is a prescription medicine authorised by the Medicines and Healthcare Administration and is completely safe when used under the right conditions by experienced professionals. The active ingredient acts only at the point of injection, affecting only the targeted muscles, and the effect is reversible, which means that it is temporary. The original muscle function in the treated areas is restored over time.
During the treatment we use the brand called Dysport ( type A botulinum toxin).
The active ingredient used, botulinum toxin, is a naturally occurring bacterial protein which, in small amounts, can block nerve-muscle transmission for a certain period of time. This relaxes the muscles involved, preventing them from contracting and the skin above them from creasing.
Yes, with the right expertise and a precise technique, it is possible to personalize the treatment and adjust the intensity of the result according to individual needs.
The effect of the treatment can differ from person to person, but it can usually last for 3-4 months. The results are visible within 3-5 days after the treatment, but the final result is only fully visible after 2 weeks.
Within a few months after the treatment, all the muscles in the treated area will regain full mimic movement, so you can stop the treatment at any time. The treatment does not damage the nerve endings or muscles and therefore can be repeated safely and without limitation. Contrary to popular belief, the muscles do not "get used to it", but after the Botox has worn off completely, mimic wrinkles will develop as it would normally, according to age and skin quality.
There may be some minor bruising at the injection sites in the treated area, and rarely headaches can occur, but these will disappear within a few days. Make-up should be avoided for 24 hours after the procedure. At the end of the treatment we will give you detailed information on further instructions.
The treatment should not be performed in case of pregnancy, breastfeeding, active skin disease, febrile illness, muscular and/or nervous system disorders. In addition, any allergy or sensitivity to the active ingredients used in the procedure should not be considered.
