You can transform your entire body contour in one surgery - the body lift will make a lasting and remarkable difference to your life!

Body lift surgery

Make a lasting change to your overall figure with a body lift

Over the years, pregnancy, weight change, poor diet or lack of regular exercise can cause the connective tissues to weaken, lose elasticity and the skin to sag. In addition, with weight gain, significant excess fat builds up under the skin, causing the skin to overstretch and become unable to retract in the event of weight loss.

During a body lift, we perform a combined surgery, which allows us to treat several areas of the body at the same time: we remove sagging skin and excess fat from problematic areas and strengthen the muscles of the abdominal wall as well. In essence, we create a radical improvement in body contour, making many areas of the body firm, youthful and lean again.

Did you know, you can get rid of excess fat and skin from different areas of your body all at once? If this is something to consider, book a consultation with our plastic surgeon to talk about your options!

We can restore the entire body

A body lift is an invasive surgical procedure on the torso that can make a lasting and major difference - up to 15 centimeters of volume reduction. There's no need for a series of plastic surgeries, you can get it all done in a single procedure and even save yourself from having to spend repeated recovery periods. The body lift affects the following areas:

  • breasts,
  • abdomen,
  • back,
  • waist,
  • hips,
  • arms,
  • buttocks.

The results of the combined plastic surgery are long-lasting and permanent only if you take good care of the results and yourself. However, if you gain weight, your skin may stretch and change again, so the effect of the procedure may be compromised. For this reason, we recommend that you reach your ideal body weight before the surgery and then go ahead with the procedure!

The three types of body lift method

We perform lower, upper and combined body lift surgeries, depending on which areas of the body we work on during the procedure. The aim and process of the surgeries are broadly similar: the procedures involve the removal of excess skin and fat and the tightening of sagging tissue, but we work on different areas and therefore different incision points.

Lower body lift Lower body lift

Lower body lift

During the lower body lift, we perform body contour correction in the abdomen, hips and back. The first incision is made in the hip line perpendicular to the body, followed by the back and buttocks, and then the removal of excess skin and fat on both sides of the waist. The operation is then completed on the abdominal wall, where the separated abdominal muscles are sutured together and the belly button is replaced.

Upper body lift

During the upper body lift we work on the breasts, back, arms and abdomen. Our plastic surgeon starts in the middle of the back, then makes an incision in the armpits and finishes with a correction of the abdomen and the breasts and chest area. In many cases, female patients also require a breast lift and a breast augmentation.

Combined body lift

In a combined body lift, we essentially perform surgery on all areas of the torso at the same time. This makes the surgery extremely invasive and stressful, with the plastic surgeon working for up to 6-8 hours.

The first step in the process is to attend a consultation with a specialist to discuss the procedure, the options and the risks. During the consultation, we will create your individual treatment plan based on the areas of concern.

Prior to your plastic surgery, you will have a full examination, including laboratory tests, ECG and X-rays. These tests will ensure that you are fully ready for the procedure.

The operation is performed under general anesthetic and can take up to 2-6 hours, depending on the areas involved. The combined surgery will remove sagging skin and excess fat from the problematic areas on your torso.

At the end of the procedure, drain tubes are inserted at several points on the torso to drain blood and secretions, and a compression garment is placed on you.

The next day after surgery, we'll apply a waterproof bandage over your wounds so you can shower easily. You will spend at least 2 nights in the clinic, after which you will be discharged with an accompanying adult.

Frequently Asked Questions

Body Lift is recommended if:

  • you are looking for a combined plastic surgery to improve and renew several areas at the same time,
  • tighten sagging skin in the abdomen, back, waist, hips, buttocks, arms and breasts,
  • you want to get plastic surgery done in one go,
  • you are in perfect health as it is a very invasive and drastic procedure.

The effects of the surgery are already visible within a few weeks, but the final shape is only reached after 6 months.

It is essential to quit smoking and discontinue the use of nicotine-containing products before having a body lift surgery, as nicotine affects the healing processes. In the days before the operation, make sure you drink enough water to keep your body hydrated and resistant. Stop taking anticoagulant medication, vitamin C, selenium, zinc, ginkgo biloba and herbal supplements a few days before the operation. You should also avoid alcohol.

Swelling, bruising, pain and numbness of the skin may occur in the 3 weeks following surgery, so it is advisable to cool and ice the treated areas. At the end of the operation, drain tubes are inserted into the wounds to drain the secretions and blood, which should remain in place for a few days at the doctor's advice. You will also be given a compression garment to wear for at least 8 weeks.

You will definitely need help with your daily activities for 1 week after the procedure, as your mobility will be very limited. You should expect a healing period of about 1 month and a further 2-3 months recovery time.

  • You'll need plenty of rest and hydration in the weeks after the bodylift surgery.
  • You should avoid smoking, nicotine-containing products and alcohol for a few weeks after the operation.
  • You will need to give yourself an anticoagulant injection for 3 weeks.
  • For a few weeks, you should sleep on your back with your head and legs elevated.
  • Do not do any heavy physical activity, exercise, lifting, stretching or bending for the first 1 month.
  • After 6 weeks you can start doing light physical activities.
  • Solarium, sauna and sunbathing are not allowed for 2 months.

Plastic surgery is not recommended in case of pregnancy, breastfeeding, menstruation, fever or acute illness. In addition, in case of diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and organ dysfunction, a separate consultation with a specialist is recommended.
