Dr. Gábor Mester
Surgeon

Introduction
I earned my medical degree in 2012 from the University of Szeged with summa cum laude honors and a national scholarship. I completed my surgical training at my current workplace, the Surgical-Oncological Department of Uzsoki Street Hospital, and expanded my expertise through international experiences in Munich, Heidelberg, Vienna, and China. Since 2017, I have been a board member of the Young Surgeons Section of the Hungarian Surgical Society.
My primary specialization is laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery, which allows patients faster recovery, less pain, and more favorable aesthetic outcomes. In addition to performing a high number of laparoscopic gallbladder and hernia surgeries, I regularly carry out complex advanced laparoscopic procedures for abdominal tumors and gastrointestinal diseases.
In my work, I place great importance on the flawless execution of surgeries as well as open and personal communication with patients. I believe that as a doctor, my role is to heal the patient, not just the disease.
What conditions can I assist patients with?
- Removal of skin and subcutaneous lesions (moles, skin tumors, lipomas, sebaceous cysts, abscesses), scar correction surgeries, ingrown toenails, etc.
- Surgical/oncological consultations
- Gallstones, gallbladder polyps, laparoscopic gallbladder removal
- Hernia surgeries using laparoscopic and traditional techniques (inguinal, umbilical, abdominal wall, and diaphragmatic hernias)
- Benign and malignant breast tumors
- Colorectal and other gastrointestinal tumors
- Bowel inflammation, diverticulosis, diverticulitis
- Emergency abdominal surgical conditions, abdominal pain (e.g., appendicitis, cholecystitis, incarcerated hernias)
- Benign and malignant pancreatic conditions, liver and biliary tract tumors
- Hemorrhoids and other rectal conditions, proctological complaints.
